I stopped for a small lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful, the place looked really pretty and I think would be lovely at night with all the lanterns. I ordered pork spare ribs, it came with fried garlic a small salad and a rather spicy chili sauce...it went well with my new best friend, a bottle of Tiger beer. Cost was 50000kip which I thought was ok for what I got. They also do a buffet lunch but I didn't see that till later and I didn't catch the price.

“Great care and attention”
I've been living in Phnom Penh for over six years, and touring across S/E Asia for about twice as long. Along these travels, I have always found Khop Chai Deu a nice place where to pause and revive. First visit to the Khop Chai Deu was in early 2005 and the restaurant was already a Vientiane icon.
Last time was a couple of days ago and it will shine as one of my best restaurant experiences in that category. The level of attention and care that I received that day was just exceptional.
And when I did ask for a papaya salad prepared the Lao way, I was quite pleased with the real spicy kick!
